Microsoft explains the new features of Mail app in Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1 is out for everyone and Microsoft continues to market it's newest OS. So this time they are talking about the new features of Mail app in Windows 8.1.

The Mail app has been completely redesigned and has got a lot of new features. It has got a lot of enterprise class features which make this app a permanent replacement for other mail clients. For enterprises, we have made a variety of less obvious improvements to ensure that the Mail app can be used for work as well. Here are some examples:
  • You can now use the Mail app to connect to an Exchange mailbox without first specifying a Microsoft account. A new group policy setting has been provided to enable this.
  • The Mail app now supports certificate-based authentication, for organizations that require user certificates to connect to Exchange mailboxes.
  • Authenticated proxy servers are fully supported by the new Mail app, ensuring that the app can be used inside the company’s network.
