The Redmi's

Xiaomi has been one of the most sought brand for value for money smartphone in Indian and the Global Arena. Their Redmi line up, now a separate brand, has been selling like hot cakes which helped them become the most popular brand dethroning Samsung in the process. The Note series has been the best selling phone in each quarter. Last year, when the Redmi Note 5 Pro was introduced, it was a phone of different league with almost zero competition in the market. I think it really was the phone that upped the game when it came to mid-range offerings. But then again, when it looked like nothing would stop Xiaomi from their dream run, things happened in the real quick in the industry. 

Office for iPad : Optimized for Apple

If you are using Apple iPad then you most probably have heard about the launch of Microsoft Office for iPad. Microsoft says that this is not a port of the Windows version but a completely built iPad version which will work great with touch input in all the apple devices.

Julia White, Microsoft’s chief of Office Division Product Management, presented the new Office for iPad during an event focused on cloud services in San Francisco, with the new CEO Satya Nadella also taking the stage to discuss about Redmond’s efforts in this particular market.White guarantees that everything has been built from the ground up to work on the iPad, and “this is definitely not the Windows app ported to the iPad.” Everything is “very natural on the iPad,” she pointed out.

“What makes these apps unique is that they strike just the right balance between being unmistakably Office and being designed for the iPad. If you use Office on a PC or Mac, the iPad apps feel very familiar, so you are comfortable and confident using these apps right away. The Ribbon layout and experience is familiar, with the most common commands under Home, and Chart commands automatically show up when you select a chart,” it says.

Office is available as a free download from iTunes but the free version will only help in opening and viewing files, if you want real editing capabilities then you must buy a Office 365 subscription.

OneNote 2013 available as a free download for Windows and Mac

OneNote is Microsoft's flagship note taking app which was available as a part of Microsoft Office. But Microsoft have decided to make this fantastic note taking app free for all the users. Microsoft has now released OneNote for Mac which is also available as a free download from Mac app store. Also Windows 7 and Windows 8 users will get the free version. It is also available as metro app from the Store which makes taking notes easier in touch devices.

Market Share round up : Operating systems

January was a normal month for the operating systems, Windows 8.x managed small increase while the good old XP (surprisingly !) managed to increase it's market share.

According to the new statistics provided by net applications,Windows 7 tops the chart with a huge market share of 47.49% while it's successor Windows 8/8.1 together have 10.58% of the market share. Windows Vista stands in the fifth position with a small share of 3.30%. Despite the imminent retirement,most disturbing fact is the rise in share of Windows XP. January was not a great month for Microsoft.Non-Microsoft operating systems trail behind with Mac OS X posting a share of 3.20% and the open source Linux OS accounts for 1.60%.

Internet explorer is becoming more popular again,Chrome and Firefox trail together !

It may sound odd but it is true. But According to the latest stats from net market share, Internet explorer has been increasing it's market share steadily since the launch of IE 10. IE 11 improves it by grabbing a share of 3.27% in the month of November.

You can see that IE has a share of nearly 58% while all the other popular browsers stay behind with a respectable share between 10 to 20%. Microsoft has been trying hard to improve their browser and they launched IE 10 and IE 11 with a gap of just one year, this is very rare to see till now as Microsoft launches a new version of browser whenever a OS comes after 2 to 3 years. IE 11 is a fast and modern browser which is highly competitive with other browsers

Looking at other browsers, Firefox has a share of 18% followed by Chrome which has 15% of the share. The real competition remains between Chrome and Firefox in terms of Market share but IE is now improving so that no one could become a real competitor to it.Safari and Opera are sitting in the back bench with 8% and 2% respectively. Market share of browser's

Internet explorer is the king when it comes to the market share of the browsers.Currently it holds 55.15% of the share worldwide.Google chrome,Firefox,Opera and safari are trying hard to get the top position.

Let me start from Internet explorer which is the most used browser as of now,four versions of Internet explorer helps it to grab the top spot.IE 8 is the most used version which constitutes 22.67% of the share.The second most used version if the latest offering from Microsoft,IE 10 which is modern and faster than every IE.Third comes the IE 9 which was released in 2011 with a share of 11.71. Unfortunately IE 6 the oldest version(currently supported) of IE is still used by 6.13% users. Microsoft is still is trying hard to move users to the new version of IE . 

Google Chrome is the second most popular browser which was released in 2008.From the day of it's launch ,it has been a successful product for Google.It has a share 13.76 % which is greatly due to the user friendliness. It is one of the fastest browser around.The silent auto-update features keeps users on the latest version of the browser always.

Firefox comes third which had the second spot some years ago.Firefox holds 12.47% of the share.The competition between Chrome and Firefox is always hard.Firefox has lived ages with the internet and is now a great browser.There is no old versions of firefox is being used as the auto update feature brings all users to the newest Firefox.

Safari comes in at a distant fourth with a share of 3.27.The availability of the browsers only to apple products have lead to this.Safari comes integrated with Mac OS and iOS.

Opera holds the fifth spot firmly with a share of just 1.58%.The new chromium based version of Opera has till now not sparked much even though it packs a lot features in it .

Apple colors iPhone 6 : Rumor

Apple will release the most anticipated iPhone 6 and it seems that internet is getting filled with colorful iPhone 6. ! Here is a pic which shows iPhone 6 available in different colors

It may be true or a fake one but this makes iPhone very different in appearance after long years with white and black versions.. Do you like this idea but it's still a rumor.

Apple introduced iOS 7 beta sometime ago and it seems that Apple iOS is undergoing majot change over in UI.It has been completely re-designed and the icons are new and flat kinda Windows 8 but it is different.

The are many new features included in this update.Overall iOS 7 seems to be the modern OS for Apple phones created till date .
