Windows 8.1 is up and moving. It is available in all countries and it is available as free update to Windows 8 users while it's predecessors need to buy the standalone version . Windows 8 was released this day, a year ago and since then it has been mixed up story for Windows 8. Windows 8.1 is now here to help Windows 8 and it's market share has shown some traction since it was released earlier this month.
Windows 8.1 includes a host of new features in which the best ones like the return start button, boot to
desktop, new start screen customization and the list goes on.... But these are just the changes which are visible, there are a series of changes behind the screen which are really useful like the new DirectX 11.2, KMS v6,Windows NT 6.3 and more.. Windows 8.1 currently holds a market share of 0.87% which is a impressive share for an newly released OS. This will be changing soon though as more users from Windows 8 start to deploy this update and as well as Windows 7 users will be thinking over to switch to this OS as it brings in a lot of better features with a subtle performance improvement over Windows 7. You can also expect the modern touch based laptops and tablets to boost the market share. So it is going to be successful product for Microsoft rather than Windows 8 which did not have much touch hardware at it's time of launch.
